Did you know that My Local Indian offers a premier catering service for large events across the UK?
As an expanded offering to the next day delivery, click and collect and outlet/ supplier pop in and purchase services that we offer at My Local Indian, over the last few years we have been delighted to expand our offer, carrying out catering services to a number of prestige events up and down the country.
As in India, the festival scene here in the UK forms a major part of the calendar, often bringing together thousands of visitors – but there are only a handful of companies able to cater for such large crowds, and few of those offer food created on site, from scratch.
This is what makes the catering service from My Local Indian so special. Whether we are creating small batches of our delicious dishes ready for packaging, freezing and home delivery; or whether we are catering at large festivals, all our meals are cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients, with the same absence of preservatives and additives. Whether you are enjoying your My Local Indian dishes at home or out at a major festival, we assure you that each mouthful will be fresh, healthy and flavour-packed!
Watch the video below to immerse yourself in the latest of our catering endeavours, where we provided a range of mouthwatering meals at the 2023 annual Kerala Pooram Snake Boat Race and Cultural Festival, at Manvers Lake in Rotherham.
Organised by the Union of United Kingdom Malalyalee Associations (UUKMA) – a registered charity which represents over 50,000 expatriates from the Indian state of Kerala who live in the UK – this spectacular event was a feast for both the eyes and ears as colourful flags, beating drums and adrenaline pumping racing took place.
Manvers Lake was created in the 1990’s on the site of a former colliery and covers about 45 acres in area and was the perfect venue for this huge UUKMA event, which saw in excess of 6000 members of the Malayalee community from across the UK assembled at Manvers to witness ‘vallam kali’ (snake boat) racing, folk dance and live music.
As you can see from the video, many of the culinary delights on offer at the festival are available as part of our delicious frozen ‘heat and eat at home’ range – porotta, biriyani as well as snacks and sweet treats such as Medhu Vada and banana Pazham Pori.
