UN World Food Day – 16th October

Saturday 16ᵗʰ October marks the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s World Food Day. Every year on the anniversary of the foundation of the UN FAO there is a global celebration of the amazing food we grow, cook and eat but also a focus on better, fairer and more sustainable ways of producing the world’s food.

At My Local Indian we share the UN's #WorldFoodDay goals of
✅Better production
✅better nutrition
✅a better environment and
✅a better life

For this year’s celebration of World Food Day, children from around the globe have put together a song which highlights the opportunities we have to grow and eat healthily: view the video here: We can all become Food Heroes

“Good food should be easy to find,
Healthy living for the earth and our minds,
Our actions are our future,And the future’s in our hands,
We can all become food heroes:
Do it for the people, do it for the land!”
